Greetings Listener!

We are once again long overdue for a newsletter, so here is what's been happening since June of last year.

Art Bevilaqua - Game Theory

In August we released this stunning collection, consisting of six re-arranged and re-recorded pieces that Art originally composed for video games, along with six new pieces composed for the project. The Lushwood Hills Sympathy Orchestra, a veritable who's-who of Lushwood Hills and Sublamental musicians provides the colour and shape to Art's vision. This is my personal favourite album of those we released last year. It's a fabulous record and you should check it out!

Count G - Music for Street Rumor (Renovated)

October saw the release of a new reimagined, remixed, and remastered version of this classic, originally released in 2019. Count G has gone back and re-thought the entire project, cleaned up a lot of the field recordings, and remixed the album to perfection. We think it's a much better record than the original, but you can judge for yourself, as the original version is still available, should you want to make a comparison.

Dead Betty - Frog Lane

In November we brought you Dead Betty's first full-length album for Sublamental. On Frog Lane a new third member joins Kevin and Andy in the form of tuned percussionist, Skip Sales, who also adds a bit of trombone and accordion. And the trio is once again joined by the lovely Margot Terpentine Singers and their heavenly voices. This is a truly beautiful album that is woody, melodic and warm. If you liked the first EP, you'll love this album!

Todd Brunner - Something to Dismember Me By

February saw the release of Todd's first solo album since 2019's Cloud Control. With the exception of Rosemary's Baby on drums and Beans Mothman on lead guitar, Todd plays all the instruments on this record, making it a real departure from the group sound of Cyanide Slugs. He becomes the storyteller of other characters' tales in these 10 psychedelic rock gems. Check it out!

Masking Tapeworm - Masking Tapeworm III

And this month sees the return of Masking Tapeworm after disbanding 4 years ago. And this is their funkiest and punkiest album to date, with some twisted experimental interludes between head-banging polyrhythmic grooves. These mysterious islanders have pulled out all the stops in the dancehalls of your mind. We are very pleased to have them back with this, their finest album to date. We think you'll agree!

Upcoming Releases

In the very near future we will be releasing a Notnef Greco live album, recorded January 2025 in Los Angeles in the immediate aftermath of the fires. As you can imagine, there is an atmosphere!

Summer will see the release of the new Laszlo Spatchcock album, Orgonopticus, which the band is hard at work on at this very moment. We are very excited. You should be too!

Other News

Count G was interviewed on the popular Ninu Nina site this month. It's a great interview that dives deep into the Count's inspiration and process. If you are a Count G fan you're going to want to read this:

That's it for this time. See you next newsletter (whenever that might be), and until then, here's a pic of Lenny Bruce getting arrested.

Later,
