Out of the melting pot of Lushwood Hills clubs, bars, cellars, and grottos comes this timely new offering from local legends, Laszlo Spatchcock. 12 delicious and nutritious instrumental delicacies, occasionally splashed with a touch of vocals, just for garnish. All of the band's distinctive melodic charms are on display as they weave and wind through both upbeat headbangers and delicate mood pieces.
This is a somewhat more aggressive album than Schizofrizzi, utilising Mary Contrary's tough synth arpeggios as the basis for many of the tracks. At the same time, her signature piano and violin add melodic colour to the proceedings. As always, Rupert von Nutwood's sometimes blistering, sometimes mournful sax pays tribute to many discreet musical styles, while Chris Christ and Rosemary's Baby forge an explosive path as only Lushwood Hills' finest rhythm section can.
This is another very fine album of catchy and colourful instrumental music by an exceptional and highly original band. We hope you enjoy it and spread the word!
"Laszlo Spatchcock make the kind of beautiful noise that you can't define or categorise. They exist out on their own private limb of the tree of music, taking in nutrients from the whole while remaining joyously unique. Incomparable and uncompromising." – Blister Bloodclot, musician, The Guano Brothers
